'Held' is a hand printed jigsaw linocut print. It is an edition of 12 prints which are all handprinted at home.
The title comes from the phrase ‘hold the mother and not the baby’ and is a response to all the friends and mothers who help you out in those early days especially. It is a love letter to the ones who get you through and keep the loneliness and darkness at bay, the essential support system for raising babies and going through matrescence. It also shows the support and time needed to be able to breastfeed successfully.
